Accessibility statement
Last updated: July 2026
Bazaarak is committed to making bazaarak.ca usable by as many people as possible—including shoppers and store owners who use assistive technologies. As a Canadian marketplace, we follow the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and aim for accessible digital experiences across Canada.
1. AODA commitment
We are committed to meeting the accessibility requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), including standards for customer service and information and communications.
Our storefront, checkout, account, and Store admin experiences are designed with accessibility in mind. We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which aligns with Ontario’s expectations for websites and web content.
We review core journeys on an ongoing basis and address barriers identified through testing, user feedback, or platform updates.
2. What we build for
- Keyboard navigation and visible focus states on browse, cart, checkout, and admin flows.
- Skip links, semantic headings, and labelled forms and buttons.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images and ARIA where components need it (drawers, modals).
- Support for zoom and responsive layouts on phones and desktops.
- Light and dark themes to support contrast preferences for some users.
3. Known limitations
Independent Sellers upload their own product photos, descriptions, and documents. Some seller content may not meet WCAG. Third-party payment frames and Google Sign-In are controlled by those providers.
We continue to improve the core Bazaarak platform and welcome reports of barriers.
4. Assistive technology
We test core journeys with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and common screen readers where practicable. For best results, keep your browser and assistive technology up to date.
5. Feedback & accommodations
If you have difficulty using Bazaarak, need information in an alternative format, or wish to request an accommodation under the AODA, email accessibility@bazaarak.ca or use Contact us. Include the page URL, what you were trying to do, and how we can help. We aim to respond within 2–3 business days.
6. Formal complaints (Ontario)
If you are not satisfied with our response, email accessibility@bazaarak.ca again and ask for a senior review.
Ontario residents may also review options on the Ontario government’s accessibility laws page or call Accessibility Ontario at 1-866-515-2025 (TTY: 1-800-268-7095).
